A result of community efforts and the Agency, the Craterian Theater was transformed from a dingy, run-down movie theater into a state-of-the-art performing arts facility seating 750. Over $3,000,000 of private donations and $2,000,000 of public funds were raised to make this project a reality.
The Theater has brought over 400,000 visitors to the downtown. In 2000, the Craterian Theater won the Governor's Oregon Livability Award; and the Oregon Downtown Development Association Physical Improvement & Community Reinvestment award.
