Bear Creek Dam Modification & Creek Bank Restoration
1994 - 1998, $1,990,000 ($1,558,000 MURA, $432,000 State of Oregon)Salmon have returned to Bear Creek since the removal of an old irrigation diversion dam and construction of the fish passage was completed in 1999. Secretary of Interior, Bruce Babbit, christened the removal of the dam and the new diversion facility, fish screens, and overlooks that have created a refreshing future for Bear Creek.
The America the Beautiful Award was presented for Bear Creek's improvements in 1994.
