Ongoing urban renewal efforts have created a cultural mecca with everything from shopping and art displays to fine restaurants, niche businesses and open space flanked by towering fountains and creeping wallflowers. Restoration efforts, such as the removal of a dam which resulted in recognition by an American the Beautiful Award, and creation of a new urban promenade along the west side of the creek, will create new and exciting places to walk, shop and enjoy beverages along Bear Creek.
