Nancy Passey discussed the Horizon Air Magazine article that ran in the September 2007 edition. The article was about Downtown Medford and all the positive changes that are taking place.

Nancy Passey presented several different banner designs for Downtown Medford to be installed across Central Avenue. The Committee chose the blue and yellow version with the red sides. The Committee felt the sunburst reflected MURA?s logo and worked well with Downtown.

Ryan Motsinger inquired as to how often the Downtown banner would be displayed. Nancy explained that the Downtown banner would be installed when the space is not rented to an outside firm.

Ryan suggested that the Committee consider designing a seasonal look with the same version. He suggested a variety to avoid monotony and to encourage visitors to come Downtown.

The Marketing Committee discussed ideas for promoting parking in Downtown Medford.

Jerry Ehlers pointed out that parking in downtown is free and in his opinion free or low cost and the abundance is a plus. If you have to pay the parking fine it is less than parking in most cities.

Randy Passey suggested that the Committee consider a price comparison with other cities.

Martin Williams indicated that there are people parking in the Porter?s private parking lot that are not Porter?s patrons. Overall, the Committee does not feel there is a problem with parking in Downtown, but felt that some public awareness might be needed.

Ryan Motsinger suggested developing a marketing campaign to attract new businesses to locate in downtown Medford.
