    Roll Call

    A. A meeting of the Medford Urban Renewal Agency Marketing Committee was called to order at 5:05 p.m., in the Medford Urban Renewal Agency Conference Room, 45 South Holly Street, by Marketing Facilitator, Jackie Rodgers, with the following Members and Staff in attendance:

    Minutes

    A. Marketing Committee Minutes of April 20, 2005

    It was moved, seconded and approved to accept the minutes of the April 20, 2005 Marketing Committee meeting as presented.

    Written Communication

    A. Council Action, May 19, 2005, Agenda Item 30.6

    Eric Maxwell, Chair of ?The Taste of History? Committee, addressed City Council introducing ?The Taste of History? event in downtown on Saturday, June 11, 2005. The Committee requested of Council the use of Vogel Plaza and to waive the $328.00 City fee. Council discussed policy regarding special events and did not authorize the waiver of the fee. Bob Strosser, City Council Representative, made a personal monetary contribution toward the event. Claudette Moore, City Council Representative, and Mayor Gary Wheeler stated they would attend ?The Taste of History? event.

    The Medford Urban Renewal Agency Board Minutes, May 24, 2005, Agenda Item 8.5 approved Martin D. Williams as a member to the Medford Urban Renewal Agency Marketing Committee.

    Chair, Jerry Ehlers arrived at 5:10 p.m. Facilitator, Jackie Rodgers turned the meeting over to Mr. Ehlers.

    Chair, Jerry Ehlers welcomed and presented a Certificate of Appointment to new Marketing Committee member Martin D. Williams.

    Staff Reports

    A. Sidewalk Sale Advertising Video

    Staff reported that Passey Advertising is working on the finalization on the unique and creative video storyboard for the upcoming Sidewalk Sale event downtown.

    Nancy Passey stated this years? Sidewalk Sale advertisement video will have a different style.

    B. 2006 Travelogue

    Staff stated the Agency is working with Southern Oregon Travelogue for the 2006 Travelogue video that will air in January 2006.

    Unfinished Business

    A. Update: ?The Taste of History?

    Feedback from participants of ?The Taste of History? event was ?fun, exciting, enjoyed the music and successful?.

    Jim Kelly stated ?The Taste of History? Committee will meet the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 a.m. Mr. Kelly also reported that Cleve Twitchell, in his Mail Tribune article acknowledged positively ?The Taste of History? event.

    Judy Barnes, Rogue Gallery and Art Center, stated to Bill Dames that 60% of the people that visited the Art Center during ?The Taste of History? event had lived in the Medford area less than six months.

    VIII.
    New Business

    Bill Dames suggested that once a month downtown business owners and employees meet at a designated restaurant to learn of events and ventures happening in the Downtown.

    The Committee unanimously agreed the first meeting would be a trial run held at Porters, August 10, 2005, 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Jerry Ehlers stated that he would contact the Heart of Medford Association to request the announcement of the ?Downtown Social? event be advertised in the Heart of Medford Associations? newsletter, announced at HMA?s next general meeting and emailed to downtown businesses and their employees.

    It was suggested that the restaurant hosting that particular month?s ?Downtown Social? would arrange, with the restaurant of their choice, the following month?s ?Downtown Social?.
